Jeera On NCDEX Settled Up


Jeera on NCDEX settled up by 3.56% at 16590 due to lower arrivals from the producing regions. Though, some gains were capped as stockiests are not buying and local demand is also poor at spot market. Good demand is being witnessed in Jeera amid thin local supplies. Arrivals are about 10000 bags in Unjha. The traders are noting good demand from buyers in Bangladesh and China. According to commerce ministry data, the export of jeera during 2015-16 (Apr-Feb) stood at 93,539 ton compared to 156,000 ton a year due to weak currencies of the importing countries. As per third advance estimate of Gujarat State for 2015-16, production is pegged at 213,000 ton. In Rajasthan, jeera output expected to be lower this year, compared to last year due to hot weather and lower acreage.
