Jeera On NCDEX Settled Down

Jeera on NCDEX settled down by -0.75% at 17315 on reports of higher sowing at the producing belts of Gujarat. Though, rising export demand at the spot market, capped some losses. India's jeera exports rose 36% on year to 73,000 tn in Apr-Oct as demand from overseas buyers was robust. Jeera sowing in Gujarat and Rajasthan have started. Gujarat farmers have planted jeera in 1,41,100 hectares, up by 122.5% compared to last year acreage. The stock position in NCDEX warehouse is at lower level compared to last year stocks. According Department of commerce data, the exports of Jeera in the first six months (Apr-Sep) of 2016-17 is recorded at 70,809 tonnes, higher by 51% compared to same period last year.
