Jeera On NCDEX Settled Up By 0.39% At 16925

Jeera on NCDEX settled up by 0.39% at 16925 on short covering after pressure seen due to commencement of arrivals of new crop in the producing markets of Gujarat. Quality of new crop jeera is good but moisture is slightly higher due to cold weather conditions in producing areas. Jeera output in Gujarat is expected to be higher compared to last year due to favourable weather conditions for the growth of crop despite slight decrease in cultivation area. Jeera (Cumin) output in India may fall by 12 per cent to 387,000 tonnes during 2016-17 due to lower acreage and adverse weather conditions. The country had produced 438,000 tonne of the spice in 2015-16
