Maize On NCDEX Settled Up By 0.14% At 1417

Maize on NCDEX settled up by 0.14% at 1417 tracking firmness in spot demand and overseas prices. Maize cultivators in the rain-fed region of Ariyalur and Tiruchi districts have been keeping their fingers crossed due to drought condition which had resulted in fall in quality and quantity of the produce this season. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly corn export inspections of 1.256 million tonnes, up from 1.124 million tonnes a week ago. The weekly total topped trade forecasts for 900,000 to 1.1 million tonnes. USDA lowered U.S. corn ending stocks for the 2016-17 crop by 35 million bushels in this month’s World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates data
