Cardamom On MCX Settled Up By 0.15% At 1209.2

Cardamom on MCX settled up by 0.15% at 1209.2 on good demand amid supply squeeze at auctions held in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. At the auction held by the Cardamom Planters Association in Bodinayakannur, total arrival stood at around 6 tonnes, of which 5 tonnes were traded. The maximum price was Rs. 1,181 a kg and the auction average was Rs. 904.16. Farmers who were holding cardamom pushed their produce into the market and that in turn pulled the prices down sharply. At the CPMC auction on April 20, the average price consequently fell to Rs. 895 a kg from 1,166 a kg on April 6. However, a self imposed market intervention later by the sellers appears to have pushed up the market on Saturday by aroundRs. 100 a kg.
